Bennet Troth is a character who first appears in Resurrection. He is a prominent member of a cult of Darquesse worshipers. His wife Odetta was seemingly kidnapped, but with the help of Sebastian Tao he finds out that she had run off with a Hollow Man named Conrad. Part of the reason she left is due to his obsession with Darquesse. Bennet, while disappointed, is grateful to Sebastian for his help and agrees to help him find Darquesse, while inviting him to The Darquesse Cult.

Biography

Resurrection

Bennet meets Sebastian and the latter agrees to help him find his seemingly kidnapped wife. While it turns out she left him for a Hollow Man, he is still grateful and welcomes him into The Darquesse Cult.

Midnight

Bennet, Sebastian and Tantalus break into The Dark Cathedral in order to obtain a cleaver's scythe with Faceless One's blood. As they enter the cathedral via a secret entrance in an underground car park, Bennet gets fed up with Tantalus's nasty quips and snide comments and stands up to him. They manage to steal the scythe but while they were exiting, Tantalus attacks Sebastian with a knife. Sebastian wins the fight and they both go to the group with their own version of events. Tantalus votes to kick Sebastian out but everyone else votes to kick out Tantalus. Tantalus leaves with a flurry of insults and the group elect Sebastian as their leader.

Bedlam

Bennet goes over to Sebastian's to hang out. He claims at the beginning of the visit that he wanted to watch a football match but it is later revealed that he wanted somebody to hang out with, mirroring Sebastian's thoughts. Their visit is cut short by Sebastian getting a text from Forby telling him that he found Darquesse's dimension. The Darquesse Cult make an agreement with Silas Nadir that they'll get him into Roarhaven in exchange for opening the portal. Everything goes smoothly and the portal opens. He offers to go into the portal with Sebastian but for his health he does not. Instead Sebastian goes alone. Sebastian uses Lily's yellow scooter to traverse the desolate land. When he sees Darquesse's corpse he is saddened deeply but he then sees her fighting the Faceless Ones in a magical form, needing a better vessel than Stephanie (Valkyrie Cain's reflection)'s body. He realizes that the fight will never end as both combatants have regenerative abilities. He begins the trek home, saddened, only to find Stephanie's corpse floating above him. The body regenerates to its former state and she silently goes with him.
