Daffyd Maybury was a mage who, along with Robert Crasis, helped his brother disguise himself as the boy Ryan. He was killed when Foe's gang threw him into a wood-chipper.

Daffyd was one of six Maybury brothers, all of which have appeared: Davit, Deacon, Dai, Davon and Daveth. They are all based on the real-life author David Maybury.
