"Oh, yes, Supreme Mage. Damocles Creed was our ideal candidate from the very start. Devout, respected and strong. There is no one with a voice worth listening to who could possibly object to him replacing Eliza Scorn."
Aloysius Vespers describing Creed.

Damocles Creed is the arch-canon, his sect of the The Church of the Faceless, and the temporary Grand Mage of Ireland. His sect is based in the Dark Cathedral in Roarhaven. He is considered formidable, both by allies and enemies. He is attempting to create a Child of the Faceless by activating people with Faceless Ones DNA, but often ends up turning people in to Kith.

Biography[]

Resurrection[]

He appears once, having a brief meeting with China Sorrows and her council of elders. A few words are exchanged; and once he leaves, China asks were they sure about him, but her council says that he is the best man for the job.

Midnight[]

In Midnight Temper Fray barges into Creeds office, they talk a little before Temper attacks Creed, however, Creed easily defeats and disarms Temper. Creed tells Temper to get out and close the door behind him. Temper picks up his weapons and doesn’t close the door.

Bedlam[]

It is revealed that Creed has been secretly searching for the Child of the Faceless Ones, recruiting people with the Faceless Ones gene to undergo a ritual test. He has so far been unsuccessful. When the ritual is completed on the wrong person, it turns them into Kith. His followers kidnap Temper to complete the ritual with him. They are interrupted by Caisson and Solace. Caisson objects and attempts to intervene before he is killed. Nero teleports Valkyrie, Skulduggery, Razzia, and Abyssinia to the platform where the ritual is taking place, as Abyssinia wants to save her son. After she leaves to deal with Flanery, Valkyrie attempts to arrest Creed for creating Kith and kidnapping Temper. Creed argues that he is protected under the Religious Freedom Act and has documents that Temper signed agreeing to undergo the ritual. He threatens to contact the Supreme Mage about their trespassing, but decides to let it go, as Valkyrie has clearly been through an ordeal.

Seasons Of War[]

After China becomes incapacitated after being wounded by Solace, Creed takes the job of Supreme Mage. He appears again at the fall of Mevolent, threatening to kill Serafina in order to get Mevolent into the Eternity Gate.

Dead or Alive[]

He becomes the main antagonist of the book, using his newfound power as Supreme Mage to add laws to Roarhaven which gradually turn it into a police state. After an astral projection session ends with Valkyrie sent 72 years into the future, it's found out that Damocles Creed succeeded in finding the Child of the Faceless Ones and using them to bring the Faceless Ones back. Skulduggery and Valkyrie later decide to assassinate him, though Valkyrie manages to talk the former out of this; Creed ends up assassinated anyway and his body is later taken by Uriah Serrate.

When Valkyrie later travels to the future, nothing has changed though she meets Cadaver Cain who is one of the few people to fight against him. It's later revealed that Uriah had resurrected him, though Creed later notices that he's been more servile than normal (hence why he hasn't questioned why Serrate wants to build a new Necropolis in Roarhaven). It's later revealed that Serrate resurrected him and had been controlling him to advance his own plans, though his influence had worn off quite quickly due to how strong minded Creed was.

After his plan to find the Child of the Faceless succeeds (while averting mass death), he points out that even if Skulduggery arrests him for attempted genocide, he'll be bailed out of prison because everyone in Roarhaven with a position of power is there because of him and that the various Sanctuaries of the world do as he tells them. When Skulduggery tells him again that he's arrested, he retorts by telling him that he won't find a Sensitive strong enough to break into his mind and that he'll need to collect evidence and witnesses to build a case against him.

Until the End[]
