Devastation Day was the day when Darquesse returned to Roarhaven to destroy the world. This is the day all of the sensitives had seen in their visions and had been built up to for years prior to the event. During Devastation Day, the majority of Roarhaven is damaged, particularly the eastern quarter, and Darquesse kills a grand total of 1351 mages, cleavers and civilians. This is the main conflict of the 9th book, The Dying Of The Light
Several waves of defense were used in an attempt to slow or stop Darquesse, including:
