Emmett Peregrine was a Teleporter. He was guarded by Tanith Low when Batu was killing all of the Teleporters. She ultimately failed and Batu killed him.
Peregrine meets up with Skulduggery and Valkyrie. Peregrine asks does he have any leads and tells him about Trope Kessel. Skulduggery suggests to Peregrine to go to London, where Tanith could protect him, and Peregrine agrees.
While he is protected in London, Batu manages to kill him, despite Tanith being there to protect him.
