Biography

Career Change

Gladys worked as Desmond Edgley's secretary for seven years. In 2007, at forty-three-years-old, she decided she'd had enough of the construction business and wanted to become a performance artist. She would perform a modern dance interpretation of Faust on the street, even going so far as to make a costume of the character, which she said symbolized his internal struggle. Stephanie Edgley found her routine vaguely discomfiting and did her best to avoid catching Gladys's eye when passing her on the street. Desmond called her and asked her to fill in for him at work, whilst his family attended the reading of his brother's will.[1]
