"Everyone here seems to have this idea that I’m just a mode of transport. Listen to me: I’m not a car, OK? I’m not a car or a train or a plane. I’m a person. Teleporting somewhere blind is a sure way to get myself killed."
— Nero arguing with Lethe and Azzedine Smoke, Skulduggery Pleasant: Resurrection

Biography []

Resurrection[]

Nero teleported into the blind sport of prison with Cadaverous Gant, then proceeded to teleport Cleavers and mages guarding the prison out and teleporting Lethe and other Anti-Sanctuary mages into the prison.

Nero was next seen teleporting Lethe, Memphis, Razzia among others to fight Valkyrie Cain and Skulduggery Pleasant, where he teleported after them to stab Fletcher Renn in the stomach with his knife before disappearing.

He teleported to and from Corrival Academy with Lethe to meet with the First Wave, where he accidentally teleported Omen Darkly along with him to the prison without realising it.

Powers and Abilities[]

Magic[]

Nero is only kept alive because of his unique Teleportation skills. He can follow other teleporters to unknown locations at will. He can also teleport despite sigils preventing others of his kind doing the same, making him able to teleport into Sanctuaries or their associated prisons with ease. He also doesn't need to touch others to teleport them, and if he does, he doesn't have to go with them.

His range of teleportation is unknown, although he appears to be able to teleport more than a few miles at a time.

Combat[]

Nero carries a knife, which he uses to stab Fletcher Renn at will. He hasn't not shown any great skill with using the knife. His unarmed combat is unknown.

Character[]

Nero is described as a good-looking thin young man with "shockingly" platinum, bleached hair. Upon meeting him, Valkyrie Cain remarks that she just knew he was the Teleporter. Cadaverous Gant finds him to be whiny. He will obey orders, but not unquestionable. This demonstrates Nero is capable of teamwork and respects certain members of his team, but can still threaten lower ranking members of his team, though its unknown if he was ordered to pass along the message.

He was not above gloating towards his enemies, but will stop when told to by Lethe and seemed to take pleasure in stabbing Fletcher Renn.

Relationships[]

Cadaverous Gant []

Nero and Cadaverous Gant don't like each other. Nero irritates Cadaverous, often unintentionally, and Cadaverous is seen as boring and creepy by Nero. Lethe often has to break things up between them.

Memphis[]

Nero and Memphis are often partners, and they often fail in their missions. Memphis doesn't completely have faith in Nero, but Nero often shows his of Memphis. Nero blames Memphis to avoid getting in trouble after Memphis accidentally kills a vital Neoteric.

Fletcher Renn[]

Nero and Fletcher have only encountered each other once, but rivalry has already developed. They both completely underestimated the other which resulted in Nero putting Fletcher out of action for the book, and Fletcher stopping Lethe and Nero from killing Skulduggery and Valkyrie.

Trivia[]

  • As of Resurrection, he is one of the three mages with the ability to teleport, the others being Fletcher Renn and Never.
  • He returns and survives in Midnight.
  • Despite been a teleporter of sorts he was not targeted by The Diablerie earlier in the series, it remains unknown whether he could be used to open a portal between Dimensions. Although The Diablerie may simply have been unaware of his existence due to the low profile nature of the Anti-Sanctuary.
