His life was saved by Dexter Vex when Tanith Low unleashed the vampire Dusk.

Last Stand Of Dead Men

He was taken hostage when the Dead Men broke in to the sanctuary. He became the Grand Mage after Erskine Ravel ordered the murder of Cothernus Ode. At some point in the next five years, he was replaced by Aloysius Vespers.
