Sean Mackin is a character in Skulduggery Pleasant: Kingdom of the Wicked. He, along with his high-school friends Kitana Kellaway, Doran Purcell and Elsie O'Brien, are given incredibly powerful magic from Argeddion, as a test to begin giving all mortals in the world magic.

Biography

Kingdom of the Wicked

Sean and his friends go out regularly to practice their magic. At first, they just have fun discovering new powers they can do, with Sean and Elsie attempting to convince the group to be Superheroes. However Sean, Kitana and Doran become emboldened by the murder of Patrick Xebec and seek revenge on everyone who has wronged them in the past. Though Sean mostly played the role of a bystander, not actively partaking in revenge like Kitana and Doran.

Later Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain are at the crime scene of the murder of Doran's brother, who Doran dismembered. Valkyrie goes in to interview Doran and is immediately are able to designate him as the killer. The two tail Doran to a nearby cafe' where he meets up with Sean and Kitana to cause more chaos. And Skulduggery’s intervention results in a fight that nearly kills both Skulduggery and Valkyrie.

Later, Kitana, Doran and Sean would take over their School and hold the teachers and students hostage. While Sean once again does not kill anyone, he wounds one of his teachers by throwing him across a room to impress Kitana. He is captured by Skulduggery and Valkyrie, who knock him out and escape. Imprisoning him at the Roarhaven Sanctuary.

Personality

Sean tags along with the group because he is enticed by Kitana's good looks and wants to impress her - as he admits himself, "I almost killed you because Kitana was pretty". Sean doesn't seem as enthusiastic about murdering as Kitana and Doran do - he takes orders from Kitana but often seems hesitant and he goes pale and silent when Doran kills Tommy whilst the other two are laughing. Elsie believes that he is a good person however it's evident that he is not.
