"The Button" is a micro-story written on December the 21st 2012 on Derek Landy Blogs Under Duress. It features Skulduggery and Valkyrie trying to stop the end of the world. The story only lasted for two days on the blog before being taken down. It was included in Armageddon Outta Here which is a Novella made up of all the previous short stories throughout the series.[1][2]
Plot
Skulduggery and Valkyrie track down the cause of the world's destruction and do their very best to avert it.

- This story, like Trick Or Treat, only existed electronically until it was printed in Armageddon Outta Here.
- It is the first electronic story to feature Skulduggery Pleasant & Valkyrie Cain.
- It is the second story set in the Skulduggery Pleasant series published on Derek's Blog, although snippets of other of in-universe material have appeared.
